Find Similar True Crime Cases

Compare the pieces that may matter

Find similar cases without assuming they are connected.

Start with what is actually recorded: where it happened, the kind of place, the time window, movement, timeframe, and distinctive details supported by an original source.

The listener’s needI recognize a pattern and want to find other cases with the same circumstances.

A useful way to start

Three moves before you form a conclusion.

1

Choose one comparison

Begin with a concrete detail such as nearby geography, a roadway or trail setting, an overnight time window, travel on foot, or an abandoned vehicle.

2

Ask why each result appeared

A useful result should name the overlap in plain language. If the app cannot explain the comparison, do not rely on it.

3

Check both source trails

A similarity is a research prompt—not proof of a shared person, cause, method, or series. Open the original sources for both cases before keeping the lead.

Try it with a real case

Follow the need, not the noise.
