Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Almost Solved respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Almost Solved True Crime iPhone or iPad app, visit AlmostSolved.com, or contact us for support.

1. The Almost Solved app

No account required

You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or payment information to use the app’s core research features.

Information stored on your device

Almost Solved may store the following information locally on your device:

- Research Files
- Source links and source labels
- Search terms and case context
- Personal notes
- Timeline selections and progress
- Recent activity
- App settings and preferences
- Optional local-learning information

This information supports features such as Research Files, Find It Again, timelines, saved links, notes, and personalized on-device suggestions.

Almost Solved does not sell your Research Files, source links, notes, searches, or app activity.

Local Learning

Almost Solved may offer optional Local Learning to improve suggestions based on activity inside the app. Local Learning is disabled unless you choose to allow it.

Local Learning information is stored on your device. You can disable Local Learning and reset its saved information from the app’s privacy or settings controls.

Network requests and podcast searches

Almost Solved uses internet connections to find podcast information, load available source details, and open outside destinations.

When you search for podcast episodes, your search terms may be sent to Apple’s iTunes Search API or Apple Podcasts so Apple can return matching results. Apple and network providers may receive standard connection information, such as your IP address, as part of these requests.

Podcast titles, publisher information, episode links, and artwork may come from Apple or the relevant publisher.

Apple handles this information under its own privacy policy:

https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Outside websites and Apple Podcasts

Websites, blogs, news pages, official records, confirmed sources, and other web results open outside Almost Solved. Podcast episodes open in Apple Podcasts.

Once you leave Almost Solved, the outside service may collect information according to its own privacy policy. Almost Solved does not control how those third parties collect, use, retain, or share information.

Review the privacy policy of an outside website or service before providing personal information to it.

Information saved after an outside source visit

Almost Solved may save information needed to help you retrace a source visit, including:

- The link you opened or added
- A source title or label
- The search or case context
- A timestamp or return time when available
- The Research File connected to the visit
- A note or snippet you personally provide

Almost Solved does not automatically fetch or store full third-party articles, podcast transcripts, social-media posts, or podcast audio.

No advertising tracking

The Almost Solved app does not use third-party advertising networks or sell app activity for targeted advertising.

The app does not request permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

2. App data retention and deletion

Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, reset the applicable feature, or remove the app.

You can delete individual Research Files, links, or notes using the controls available in the app. You can also disable and reset optional Local Learning.

Removing the app generally removes information stored in its local app container. Copies may remain in device backups managed through your Apple settings until those backups are replaced or deleted.

support@almostsolved.com
